An Annual Christmas Process

Not many blog posts lately because, as the saying goes, I can't walk and chew gum at the same time.  The same goes for for drawing and writing… which is why I usually don’t chew gum.

Pencil rough/hand sketch.

Clean up subject.  Add form and detail by hand.

Create background in Photoshop.

Scan angel and import into Photoshop.
Spend hours experimenting with effects and filters.
I love Photoshop.

Add a pale hint of color to angel and child.

Add stars and bubbles for movement (and mood).

Sign and add Christmas wishes.

  3. Hi Aunt Ann. Apparently I must love angels, too; I keep returning to them as subjects. They are all around us, or at least that is what I would like to believe.

Hi Al! Thanks for the comment and for the nice email note. When are you leaving for Maine?

    Love, Lin

  5. Not sure about the inspiration...maybe that I hold a strong association between angels and Christmas. Angels represent goodness, pureness, protection and guidance... all the things that the peace of Christmas is supposed to bring; it's what makes Christmas Day so special and so different than any other day of the year. Maybe that makes some sense. But maybe not :) Love, Lin
