Gray Doves

This guy popped out to welcome me home yesterday.
I snapped the picture as I was entering the garage –
behind the safety of my windshield as everyone knows
 that I am petrified of flapping feathers.

Every year this bird (actually, I really don't know if it is the same bird – they all look alike to me) and its significant other make a home in the tree right outside my garage.  A couple of  years ago, we observed the process of nest-building and egg-hatching  from our family room window.   It was so interesting.  Nature is amazing.
