| We did get a lot of looks, compliments and interest in our display but we need to try a Holiday Craft Fair next time. |
Our profits: a little bit of money and a lot of laughs. In my book, that’s a success. But boy, was it cold at 7:30 AM as we set up
our cellophane-wrapped wares under the pavilion where we were assigned our 10’ x 10’ square of
real estate at the Salem County Fairgrounds.
But, as the day went on and crowds of people filled the event, it
began to thaw to a comfortable 60 degrees.
We met nice folks, pet nice dogs and I had a delicious shrimp wrap (7
PointsPlus) from The Shrimp Man, a vendor that was conveniently located at the
end of our row.
And we got to know the couple that sold handmade jewelry across the
way and the woman who owned Mama’s Famous BBQ Sauce, our neighbor to the left. After careful sampling, I bought a jar of the honey variety Mama's Famous BBQ. Earlier in the day, she
shared her electric heater by suggesting that we stick our hands into the
tent. Also, there was a visit from friends
and family to show support for our ambitious endeavor.
Sunny day.

Hi Lin...sounds like such a fun day.....and getting your table deposit back and a bit more is a good start.....when i sold my tarts, i could not find a way to profit. i'm glad Judi went, too. love alice
ReplyDeletep.s. the baskets look great! i bet the thanksgiving one went fast. i bet because people know they have to bring something to someone's house for a specific occasion.....? love al
ReplyDeleteActually, we made Thanksgiving kids' packages of activity placemats, markers and a fall craft project that really went fast. The large autumn basket had to go for half price/quick sale as we were packing up. But it was fun. I would have bought your tarts - but I can see how labor intensive making those could be. Love, Linda
