We have been functioning. We’re doing dishes in the laundry room sink
(which puts me a little behind on the wash since a fully loaded dish drainer
has to live atop the washing machine). However,
we’re not dining out as much as I thought we would want to. It can get kind of pricey -- calorie-wise (aka
Points Plus-wise) as well as money-wise.
Dut lent us a couple of electric cooking appliances – she is kind of a
QVC addict and owns every imaginable kitchen gadget -- like a roaster and a griddle,
which we used to cook eggs one morning.
And we have an outdoor grill that we have been know to brush snow off
and cook burgers and steaks even when we do have a working kitchen. Ready to eat, prewashed bags of lettuce come
in handy. Also, I picked up some frozen microwavable meals (like vegetable lasagna and stuffed peppers) for a few weekday dinners.
Not great, but okay. Last night
was a rainy, soupish night so we went to Panera Bread for soup and salad
(excellent, and it hit the spot).
So, we’re managing.
Tomorrow someone will come to make the template for the quartz counter
tops (the sink gets installed along with the counters) and in five to six working
days, voila, new and improved useable kitchen.
Lin, it sounds so pretty...the cabinets...the countertops...how lovely!! love alice
