Missing Mothers

I am so sad for Judi’s family.  The first holidays after a death are hard enough, but Mother’s Day… the worst.  Judi used to work a lot of holidays and I am hoping that, for at least some of that long stretch of Sunday, her children will mercifully forget that Judi is gone and believe that she is merely at work.  Perhaps she will be at work, a different kind of work, looking down from heaven and guiding them through happy memories and funny stories.

Although my mother will be here tomorrow to spend this special occasion with us, I am missing her, too.
