Another Geeky Tech Post

Yay, Apple!  Not expecting my computer to arrive home from the iHospital until next week, I was resigned to struggling with my turtle-slow “vintage” laptop, circa 2003, for a much longer period.  It is a 15” PowerBook, very nice for its ancient time, but compared to the new 17” glossy screen MacBook Pro that I have been using for the past three years (well, maybe not so new since three years in computer age may be comparable to twenty-one years, like the equivalent in dog years).  Couple that with the latest peripherals – my Christmas gifts – a 27” monitor and external keyboard, it seems like an iToy.  Even though I was not able to run Adobe CS5, as it would likely choke the operating system, I could still hunt and peck out emails and posts for this blog.

But, surprise, surprise.  The doorbell rang this morning and it was the FedEx guy asking for my signature.  Only three days!  From Sunday in Jersey, off to Texas for doctoring, and delivered to my front door on Wednesday morning, all fixed and equipped with a new logic board and raring to go. (A logic board is the Apple equivalent of a PC motherboard; I didn't know this so I looked it up in Wikipedia.)   Sometimes things actually do go right.  Thank you, Apple.
