Back to Square One

It’s a shifting, changing threshold.   Sometimes it’s a number on a scale.  Or an insensitive comment.  Maybe a recent photo.  A move further down the rack to the larger sizes in my favorite store.  Sometimes it’s a preferred article of clothing that has been residing in my own closet that I try to squeeze into one morning and realize…no dice.  It’s not happening today – or in all likelihood – not next week either. It’s time to face the undeniable consequences of my long-term estrangement with the bathroom scale.

So I have decided to return to my tried and true method of weight loss.  Serious.  No fooling around now.  No more delusions.  No more searching for shiny surfaces with vertical distortions (false reassurance that I don't look that bad).  But Weight Watchers has changed.  I have all the old books, the calculators, the mindset and a roster of point values memorized – and now they changed it all.  What’s this?  0 points for a banana?  I have so much to learn.

I just joined.  Now I am committed.

  1. ugh. just lost my comment. let's try that again. It's a great new program from what I understand, with a great e-tool tracker. I think you'll like it once you adjust! keep us posted and good luck!

  3. Hi Kim. I joined WW Online. Still exploring the all the tools, resources and website. I like a lot of the features so far, including an app for my iPod Touch that syncs automatically with my computer. Pretty cool. Thanks for the comment. I read your posts about weight management and you know what a struggle this is. Not fair! Linda
