Looking Forward to Spring Event

One of my recently completed projects is the invitation, response and envelope set for Devereux’s 100th Gala on April 14th.  It will be a big, fancy to-do again, even bigger this year because it's the century celebration.  I'm really looking forward to it.  New dress shopping in the near future.

  1. Wow, I love this! Lin, can you mail and invitation to me and to Sis, I am not sure if we can go but I would like to make an attempt. [especially for Sis, it might be too long a commute on a sat. night]. Also, I am so glad to see the photo of the namesake, the woman. I tried to zoom in but I can't. Is she a white woman? This is a brilliant design. So inviting and historic..i love it, Lin. love al

  2. P.S. I always wondered where the Devereux [sp] name came from, too....

  3. Hi, Alice. Thanks for liking it. We chose a soft, cream colored, lightly flecked paper to add to the "antique" look. I have requested extras and will send them out or will provide the names and addresses and they will send them from Devereux. It would be wonderful if you could come!!!! But please don't feel obligated.

Here is Devereux's main website: http://www.devereux.org/site/PageServer

From there you can find out the history or go to the Dev New Jersey section.

Hope to see you next month! Just talked to Judi about it.
    Love, Lin

  4. Hi Lin. I find Helena Devereux fascinating. I went to the site and checked the bio. Thank God for remarkable people like her. I guess she married...did she have kids? How great that you live near Philly, where she started it all. love, alice
