Rescue Me

Look at her sweet, smiley face.  I love her already.
It looks like we are going to adopt a rescue dog.  My friend Rosalie’s daughter is very involved in this worthwhile cause and, through her vast network of doggie do-gooders, she has located a young golden/lab mix.  I can’t think of a better combination of two wonderful breeds.

Our future addition is a beautiful girl, currently living with a  foster family in Tennessee.  She has been tended with loving care by the “Big Fluffy Dog Rescue.”  They are guessing her age to be less than one year and she has been described as an absolute love!  And bouncy, too.  Look at the picture… she is smiling!  She is scheduled to arrive in New Jersey on 10/25 (very early in the morning, I might add).

I am learning as I go how this adoption process works.  We are to meet her in Bedminster, New Jersey at 7:30 a.m. – where ever that is.  We'll find it.

Now, about the name.  Her name is temporarily "Lindy" but Joe thinks that sounds too close to "Linda" – so when he talks to us the dog and I may get mixed up. What a dilemma. Which one of us will bring him his newspaper and slippers?  I'm guessing it will be the same as who does it now.  No one.

  3. This is all coming together as perfect timing. And I have been thinking that a rescue is the absolute right thing to do for us at this stage.
