Change is Good

The Merion, Cinnaminson, New Jersey

All good things must come to an end and someday I am going to invest half my life savings in a pair of dress shoes that won’t hurt my feet.

I missed L even less than I missed J this weekend and, if that’s terrible and un-maternal, I will be more than happy to relinquish my mother of the year award and return it posthumously to the late June Cleaver.  (But, I knew that above-mentioned grown children were safe, sound and happy so I did not worry.)

The fundraising event was a success – we will get the final totals soon, I’m sure. The venue, The Merion was beautiful and the pre-dinner hors d'oeuvres were bountiful and elegant. I didn’t win a silent auction prize although I did put my name on the bid sheets for a couple of baskets, but someone outbid me.  Out of about 60 items, my sister won the very basket that I described in a previous post:

For Ladies Only
TCOY (Take Care of Yourself) with a basket of Avon products – facial treatments, cosmetics, lotions, heavenly scents, jewelry and a multitude of products for ultimate pampering.  And be transported to another time and place with 2 tickets to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Also, a beautiful silver tone watch is included.

But it’s Monday and everyone is back at home, getting ready to start another week.  And my feet STILL hurt.
