ReplyDeleteOMG, I love this stuff, Lin. Thanks so much for posting it. I am going to come back to it again and again for a laugh, or to shake my head in amazement. I did my journalism thesis on roles of men in magazine ads in a couple of women's mags from i think 1965 to 1975? they were always barbecuing if shown....this is so fascinating...the Hoover, the Ovaltine, the Total, the Midol,i love it all!!!!! how did you find this stuff? Btw, my mom liked having warm milk at bedtime. and her mom always had ovaltine in her cabinet. i really like ovaltine--even more, now that i've seen this ad. love, al
ReplyDeleteHi Al. What a great topic for your thesis. Do you still have it? It would be interesting to read now – even to see how much our culture has changed from when you wrote it. How did I find these? They were posted by a Facebook friend and I thought that they were hysterical. My mom made Ovaltine for us sometimes, but I don't think I've had it in 40 years.
