- Carting L’s post-surgery butt to and from physical therapy and chauffeuring to her final grad-school class. Filling ice bags at a marathon pace to ease incision inflammation and spending quality time with her before she is off and running back to boyfriendland. (She has only yesterday achieved her former independent status; she is driving again and has left the building.)
- Writing a lame attempt at a biography in practice for writing a novel that will never be completed anyway.
- Doing a bit of actual paying graphic design work.
- Working on my volunteer commitments, primarily the parent auxiliary group for my son’s special needs program. Wrote a letter to stir up interest in generating new members and taking over duties of the wonderful person who led the group for many years. The first meeting is to be held here in less than 2 weeks. Must clean the house and bathe the smelly dog.
- Baseball postseason playoff games. America's pastime can be time-consuming.
- Still working on getting Joey’s IBS under control. Visited a new doctor this week for a second opinion. New meds, new ideas. Please, God, let them work.
- With Judi: chemo on Monday, lunch and errands today. She had a pretty busy week herself – being sick – nasty stuff, all that chemo. I will refrain from gory details, but she is brave and strong.
- Preparing to do my annual Christmas card, accumulating scraps of ideas for concept. I’m thinking angels again this year. I love the angel theme and I return to it often.
- Setting up a few things/appointments for mom.
- Learning to handle stress. Doing pretty well with it, I must say. Not perfect, but not bad.
Where’s the beef? Remember that funny old lady from the Wendy’s commercials?
Sending love to my cousin Lin. You do so much, and do it so gracefully and with such good humor. Just make sure you take a tiny pocket of time for you to go out and breathe the autumn air. I love the idea of the biography. love, alice
ReplyDeleteHi, Al. I do find TCOY time here and there... thanks! Judi said she spoke to you last week and gave me the full report. I am so happy that Figgy is doing much better. So glad. Love, Lin Say hi to Sis.
